Costa Esuri Golf II

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Golf Course 2 at Costa Esuri is opening today, Thursday 17th June 2008.

At least that is the official word but having seen delays after such previous announcements, until the first ball is hit I’ll reserve judgement!

It will be 5 weeks until I get my first round so I’d really welcome a review or comments from anyone that plays the course in the meantime.

I guess, following Tiger Woods withdrawal from competition for the rest of the season we’ll not be getting his review!

Costa Esuri Updates

Golf Ball

The 2nd golf course at Costa Esuri is reportedly due to open at the end of February 2008. When I last saw the course at the end of summer it was looking good. It is very different from the first course:  since it seems to meander amongst various areas of the development making the fairways look tighter than course one, which is much more open, particularly the front 9.

I’m really looking forward to trying it out as soon as possible.

I’ve also heard that the big commercial centre at the entrance to Costa Esuri is scheduled to open in May 2008 - my guess is the paint will still be drying but we’ll see!!

Don’t forget I’m now taking bookings for my 2 bedroomed apartment and until the commercial centre opens in May there are discounts for any period. Could be a great opportunity o get some low cosat golf in - and maybe try the 2nd Costa Esuri Golf Course as soon as it is open. Visit Costa De La Luz Golf Holiday for more details.

Costa Esuri Update

I’m just back from a brilliant two week holiday in my apartment at Costa Esuri.

There’s much to tell you which I’ll do over the coming week but just to let you know I’ve added a whole batch of photographs to the Images section, including many of the Costa Esuri Golf Course.

The weather was brilliant sunshine for 2 solid weeks, my apartment’s snags have all been sorted and I could really relax for the firtst time.

The Golf Club house is now fully open - I really like it - good feel and food (the only drawback was one of the staff was on holiday - just at the busiest time!!) but I can forgive that as I sit with a cool beer in the warm evening sun overlooking the driving range.

We found loads of great beaches, some just across the bridge in Portugal and even enjoyed a day trip to Seville. I say even because cities are not normally my kids’ idea of fun but a trip in an open top bus and a horse and carriage ride kept them happy!

Costa Esuri Golf ClubHouse

I heard the new clubhouse opened at the weekend. Has anyone used it yet and can confirm it really is open?

3 weeks ago it was ready and as much as I enjoyed a cool beer overlooking the practice range in the warm evening sun sitting on the old veranda I’m looking forward to what, hopefully, will be a great clubhouse that stays open and serving food until later.

I guess the temporary clubhouse will be on the move again very soon and for a short while the area will look strange while the range is extended.

Nobody has been able to tell me what is planned there - more open bays? or something grander.

I’d love to hear from you with any news or indeed a review of the clubhouse if you’ve tried it.

Costa Esuri Golf - Club Hire

I’ve just heard that it is possible to hire a set of clubs at Euros 25. This is for a set of quality clubs (brand new at present) and may offer an attractive alternative to carrying (and paying excess baggage costs) your own clubs through international airports if you are only likely to play once or twice during a visit.

Costa Esuri Golf

Although I didn’t have time to play myself this time the reports on the course are very good. The greens are excellent and although the areas near the pathways are a bit patchy a bit of growth over the next few months will improve this no end. The wind comes into play on several holes, particular those towards the river, and some of the par 3s are a challenge at around 200 yards. Here’s the scorecard (not mine!!) but don’t forget these are metres not yards.

Costa Esuri Forum

I was contacted a few days ago by Andy who runs the Costa Esuri Forum. I just registered and see that they are already doing what I planned to do on this blog - create an informal golfing society for Costa Esuri.

Rather than duplicate efforts I recommend anyone interested in golf (or anything to do with Esuri in fact - it’s a great forum) registers at the Costa Esuri Forum. Remember to come back here though - don’t leave me all on my own :)
